Anyone ever been? It’s a huge festival of motorcycling, and celebrates individual or custom builds.

German language vid but you can FF through it to get a flavour.

“The Glemseck 101 is a European »motorcycle happening« taking place in Germany with tens of thousands of visitors, guests and participants who represent the full range of the motorcycle scene and who live the »Spirit of the 101« for three entire days.”

You will love it Brian, I went to it last year, lots of customised bikes and the drag race is something else, everything is just so laid back. Camping for 2 nights with a tent (no vans or camper vans although there is a lovely campsite a few miles away in Shellbroon or a large campsite in Stuttgart beside the Mercedes-Benz museum) was €20 with live music on the Friday and Saturday nights.

Phil, you do know that there are no ferries to Norway from England and the route will be via Holland, Germany, Denmark, etc. A long, long way round ...... unless you are going to hire a bike in Norway ??

Yes. Tip of Denmark to bottom of Norway.

Fjord Line Ferries ..... Hirtshals to Langesund, or Kristiansand, or Stavanger, or Bergen. Take your pick.

Trouble is, you have to get to Hirtshals first. Which for Phil is a long way from the Green Isle.

Hi Barry, I will be shipping the bike from Ireland to a pick up point at Gardermoen airport, a short flight from Dublin to the airport, pick up the bike and return it again 14 days later.

Cost is almost the same as it would be if it got the ferry from Belfast to cairnryan, Newcastle to Amsterdam then ride all the way to Hirtshals in Denmark then a ferry to Norway and then the same route home.

Shipping the bike is saving me 5 - 6 days travel time to and from Norway.

The cost for return flights at the moment is £150 from Dublin, cost of return shipping is 750 euro which at today's exchange rate is around £660. That includes carrying all my luggage and camping gear.
