Hi Hi Hi, apols about the delay, but IT is giving me bloomin nightmares over the last few days.

Rob and I have gone over the route, (it's a corker), but at the mo I'm not able to upload it as this new bloomin forum wont allow me to attach it with a GDB or GPX file extension:firedevil::firedevil::firedevil::firedevil: We are still working on it though.

    So plan B
Meanwhile - please let me have your email addresses by text to my mobile on
And include your forum handle please. I'll then email the route in GPX and GDB format for your sat nags.

To try to avoid anyone having a really bad day, I'll bring along a list of the stops and their postcodes so if you do wander off piste, we can simply see you at the next stop!

Fingers crossed for the weather, I'll aim to get to the services for 0830 for me brekkie.

I've updated the first post with attendees, the numbers are just right for me, not too big a group.
Ellie and Dan may not have noticed my plea for email addresses, can anyone let them know please, and get them to send me their details.. ta

As a back up, I'll check that the route looks OK in Basecamp/works in my sat navs and, if all seems good, I'll load it onto some micro sd cards and bring them (and an sd adapter or two) in case anyone hasn't managed to get hold of them via email or whatever.

The postcodes of each stop have been added to the first post. Please take a screen shot of them so you know where to rejoin us if you go off piste.
We can discuss this when we meet :ARMS1::ARMS1:

    Hi guys,
I am really sorry I left in the middle of the ride out, but I just did not feel good and I just could not concentrate on the road ahead. A couple of times I almost hit the hedge and my ride was hectic. I changed gears like a newbie. I decided it is better if I go home, at least I will not crash my bike again :)
Thank you all for your effort, I enjoyed myself as much as I could, see you all on the next ride out :)

Hi all, thanks to all for making today really enjoyable. Great to see you all again.
Although slightly drafty at times, the weather was perfect.
A big up to Paul (Pad) and Rob (Curlynot) without who todays rode would not have taken place. Oh and to Phil (Kartman) for letting me copy a previous route of his!

Arrived home around 6.45 after biding farewell to Paul in Cannock.
What a great day, thank to Brian and Rob for organising it, also to PAD for sorting out the route for the satnav's.
I was lovely meeting a lot of old friends and meeting some new faces.
I hope you feel better Peter don't worry we all have our of days.
A further thanks goes to Paul for being such great company last night in Peterborough.
Hope to see you all soon.

Well you all did better than me getting home. I made the decision to cut across country to the M1 only to find it was a car park. Had to filter for miles to get to the M25 which was worse.☹️ After further miles of filtering I gave it up as a bad job and hopped onto the M40 to cut through to west London. Managed to get in at 19:10.
But apart from that, what a thoroughly brilliant day. Well done to everyone for making it a safe and trouble free day out.
Special thanks to Brian (old rat) and Rob (curlynot) for doing the hard bits. Great to see you all again.
    Let's do it next year.

Arrived home safely at about 7.15, still annoyed with myself for taking the wrong exit from a roundabout and merrily leading Steve towards Northampton instead of Corby for a few miles!:BangHead:

Huge thanks to Brian for organising this year's FTSR in Phil's absence and for doing a damn good job as leader. Equally, thanks to Rob for his usual impeccable contribution as TEC. I reckon I'll have to offer my services next time to give you a break! It was great to meet up with you all again - I look forward to the next ride out and to 2018 hopefully having a greater number of them than this year.

Sorry you were feeling rough, Peter. Get well soon.

And thanks to you too Steve - it was an interesting history lesson. From the Vietnam war to the Celts via Catherine of Aragon in three pints!

As for my small contribution to the routes, thanks for the thanks... But, really, it was nothing. Just moving/adding a few waymarks. Absolutely zilch compared to the knowledge that goes into creating them in the first place, or to people taking responsibility for making it all work smoothly and safely.

Thanks Brian and Rob for a great ride out.
Made it to the hotel in Chester at 7:30 . Guess what, I was right to wear my waterproofs. It was raining in Chester .

Sat nav lied, it indicated a 116 mile ride which was actually 160 miles.
Tanks to everyone for making it a great day.

Morning all, thanks for all the thanks and well done Brian for taking the day on. I quite like being TEC, nobody sees my mistakes then! Thats a pretty good route, especially that last bit from Hallaton tea rooms to Peterborough, although perhaps we need to miss out Wansford at the beginning as thats twice its gone a bit squiffy within the first ten miles :(. I really enjoyed the day, small group, good company etc plus when I put my waterproof trousers on less draughts through my leathers :). See you all again

    Regards Rob.
