2017 Shropshire Shenanigans?

I think that PAD organises this one. Will there be one this year? I hope to be able to make it this time

There is going to be a Shenanigans this year. As the site had been down for such an extended period (in no way a criticism - well done and a big thank you from me to those who have had to endure the task of rebuilding the site - it's great to have the forum back) and it was getting a bit late to be organising the ride out, I have worked with those of us who were in contact by other means to put a modest (i.e. smaller rider numbers, same venue, keeping it simple) event together. Modest because I am really busy with events at the moment and don't have much time to dedicate to arrangements.

Unfortunately, all bar one place (now available due to a cancellation), the event is fully booked. As reeseyboy has expressed an interest, it seems fair to offer that place to him, if the dates suit, and these are Friday 8th to Sunday 10th September, with the venue being The Inn on the Green and The Green Campsite (or local B&B etc - the pub B&B is fully booked apparently), Wentnor, Shropshire, as in the previous two years. If you can let me know asap whether you can make it, reeseyboy, that would be great.

I am happy to run a 'reserve' list in case others have cause to pull out, so anyone interested is welcome to express that interest and I will operate it on a 'first come, first served' basis if and when any opportunity arises.

Apologies if anyone feels left out, but it really was simply a matter of expedience to organise as best I could in the absence of the forum and of time on my part. Hopefully next year will see things restored to something like the more usual footing!

Of course, anyone who has an interest in these events and would like to furnish me with their contact details (just in case) is very welcome to do so via PM. Of course, this requires sponsorship... But that's a good thing, right?

Thanks for clarifying things Paul and also for taking the trouble to put something together this year despite the problems with the site.

I know that your personal and business plans leave you very short of time so a real big thank you from me to you for being able to do something.

    Hi Paul
    Sorry I couldn't make the chosen dates (I'm in Scotland, 4 wheels :( )
I shall just have to look forward to next year. . . . . have a great ride.

PAD - thanks for replying. I was hoping that it wasn't going to be the weekend it is! Won't be able to make it now. Maybe next year....

Please add me to the reserve list. I would need some notice as I'd have to arrange for a dog-sitter :)

Great to see you & Mrs Pad at the weekend Paul, even if there had been room at the inn I wouldn't have been able to attend because I to will be in Scottishland, hope you all have a brilliant weekend & hopefully catch up with you all on the Bye Bye To Summer Rideout :)

Can I ask if you are intending to venture anywhere near Clumsy Geezer territory (i.e. Stafford-ish?) If you do, and if it's on a weekend I might be able to tag along for the ride (if that's OK, of course...)?

OK, I have you on the reserve list John. I'll give you as much notice as I can.

Well we won't exactly be a million miles away from Geezer's at the base for the weekend, mango (40 odd miles), but the routes don't take us any closer. I do want to keep the group small(ish) though, hence the reserve list. I don't have a problem with someone tagging along for the ride(s) only, but it would still be on the basis of going on that list.

Hi PAD, as it turns out I suspect I wouldn't be able to make it with work commitments anyway. Perhaps next year... :ole:

The weekend is fully booked so, barring the unforeseeable, sorry there will be no room for reserves.

Next year, if time allows me to organise something and forum issues remain behind us, I'll try to ensure that things are a bit more inclusive.

Unfortunately today is the first time I've actually realised the site is back up & running so I'm really disappointed to not be aware that 2017 Shenanigans is taking place. Hope all of the riders enjoy this years event as much as I have previous ones. Roll on 2018.

Brilliant company. Amazing roads and 750,674 bends... (probably)

I gotta say that I'm utterly knackered... But in a good way. (and I only rode the first days route)

Thanks Pad for all the Riding and planning work you put into organising this thing.
Also to Pete for his hard work 'TEC-ing'. Likewise Old Rat for picking up the TEC mantle later. And Tpeti for helping me park the bike.

And everyone for simply being great company.... And bloody good riders.

    Like I said... 'Stunning'.

Oh, and really sorry Mitka for not telling Pete that you were still in the car park.

For some reason I fugured that Pete knew you were there and when he rode out after me and I assumed (again) that Pete had told you which way to go.

I won't make so many assumptions in future.

lovely to see you again though mate.
